      LEAMAN, George Alden – age 85 of Greenwood Square, NS passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late William and Thelma (Heatley) Leaman.
       George retired with rank of Sergeant from the R.C.A.F. after 32 years of service. He was an active member and the previous Past Master of Argus #133 Masonic Lodge and also a member of Markland #99 Masonic Lodge, Kingston, NS. George enjoyed square dancing and afternoon trips to Tim Hortons for coffee and fellowship with friends. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed crossword puzzles.
       George will be sadly missed by his wife Marilyn (Snow); daughters Deborah (Dave Gilbert of Thunder Bay, ON) and Dee of Edmonton, AB; son Michael Leaman of Ottawa; sister Leta (Hugh) Moore of Kingston, NS; grandchildren Ebony, D. Patrick Gilbert and Spencer T. Gilbert; great grandchildren David P. Gilbert, Adrian M. Gilbert, Jorgia-Anne R. Gilbert and Lara J. Gilbert. Besides his parents,
       George was predeceased by his sister Doreen and his brother Lloyd.
       In keeping with George’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Masonic Lodge Tribute will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 31st in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. (902) 825-3448; followed by a Memorial Service with grandson, Pastor D. Patrick Gilbert officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Private interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Salvation Army.
