Lt. Wallace Hutcheon Is Married In California
Portland — Announcement has been made of the marriage of Wallace Hutcheon, Jr., former resident of Portland, to Miss Margaret Marie Crossen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest P. Crossen, of Los Altos, Calif.
Lt. Hutcheon’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Hutcheon, Sr., former residents of the Portland-Mount Bethel area, now live in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The afternoon wedding, performed by Rev. David Garahan, was performed in the Christ Episcopal Church at Los Altos with the yellow and white color scheme carried out in the bouquets of yellow carnations in brass urns.
A trio of attendants wore yellow silk shantung sheath dresses with short full overskirts and matching bow headpieces. The matron of honor, Mrs. Robert Hemingway, of Palo Alto, carried yellow cymbidium orchids and roses. The bridesmaids, Delma DelBono and Sara Bock, of San Francisco, carried cymbidium orchids.
The bride wore a gown of white Chantilly lace over satin, with the tiered lace extending to a chapel- length train. Seed pearls outlined the scalloped neckline and trimmed the lace cap which held her veil. She carried an arrangement of white orchids and stephanotis on a prayer book.
Charles Felker, a former resident of Mount Bethel, now of Langley, Ky., was the best man for the bridegroom with whom he attended college. Ushers were fraternity brothers, Robert Hemingway and John Carey, of San Francisco.
A reception was held in the University Club at Palo Alto. The bride’s mother received her guests in a dress of green chiffon and lace. The bridegroom’s mother wore a beige lace ensemble.
The bride was graduated from Sullin’s College, Bristol, Va., and Chamberlain School of Retailing in Boston, Mass.
Lt. Hutcheon received his bachelor of science degree from Pennsylvania State University and did graduate work at the University of Miami, Fla. His fraternity is Delta Chi. He has been in the U.S. Navy for a number of years and is at present stationed on board the Kitty Hawk.
Among the guests was the bridegroom’s aunt, Miss Lillian Hutcheon, of Richmond Hills, N. Y.
