       Native of Cherokee County; son of the late Charles and Frances Vassey Hines; member of Chesnee First Baptist Church, World War II veteran; a doctor of medicine: member of Spartanburg County Medical Society, South Carolina Medical Association, Sertoma Club of Spartanburg, charter member of American Academy of Family Practitioners, member of Southern Railroad Physician Association, Chesnee Masonic Lodge 294.
       Also surviving: son, Homer Winston Hines of the hme.
