Bill Small, 68, of Dryden died October 15, 1991, at the Lake Orion Nursing Center.
He was born September 2, 1923, in Knightstown, Indiana to Floyd and Ruby (Holloway) Small. He married Jo Ann Houck on July 17, 1954, in Williamsport, Indiana.
Mr. Small served his country during WW II in the Army Infantry. After the war he attened Indiana University, where he started a newspaper called "The Veteran". After graduation in 1946, with a degree in Journalism, he worked as a reporter for the Rochester Tribune, in Rochester, Ind. Eventually he became the owner of his own newspaper, "THe Williamsport Pioneer" for 10 years. He was a reporter for the Lapeer County Press for 14 years, starting in 1959. In 1981 he becam co-owner of Blue Water Printing until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Kiwanis and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; one son, Douglas (and wife Gail); two grandchildren, Andrea and Melissa; a niece, Loretta (and husband Greg) Muzzy and their children (affectionately called his grandchildren), Brett and Kristin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lapeer Area Hospice. Burial was in Highland Cemetery in Indiana.
