Sharon Lee (Emery) Holets, age 66, of Verona, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 at HospiceCare Inc. surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 12,1944, in Westbrook, Maine, the daughter of Howard and Mildred Emery. She was a graduate of Westbrook College (1964). Sharon married William Holets, on Sept. 10, 1965, in Westbrook, Maine.
She worked as an auditor at the University of Wisconsin prior to a disability retirement and was a member of the United Church of Christ in Verona. Sharon enjoyed spending time at the farm (cabin) near Bagley and enjoyed hiking and camping.
She was a Badger Hockey and GBP fan, “Go-Pack-Go.” She especially loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed simple pleasures. Rain or shine she always had a ready smile.
Sharon is survived by her husband, William; daughters, Karen(Aaron) Cusman and Susan (Kevin Daane) Kroger; grandchildren, Kelsey Kroger, Andrei Vultaggio and Kaleigh Kroger; mother, Mildred; brother Lanny; nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Visa. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the superb staffs of St. Mary’s Hospital, St. Mary’s Care Center, Home Health United, HospiceCare Inc., U.W. Hospital (Transplant) and Dr. Sorber and Maureen Rice at Dean Clinic. FitchRona EMS and Verona Police for all their wonderful responses while at home, Pastor Mark Yurs from United Church of Christ and her daughter Karen, for her kidney donation.
