BUXTON —
Matthew Dean York, 49, formerly of Crescent Place in Biddeford, died on Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at a Scarborough health care facility. Born in Saco, he was the son of Ira G. and Loraine H. Emmons York. Matthew attended Bonny Eagle High School and for the past several years he has been working at Bruce’s Auto in Arundel.
He loved old classic cars, hot rods, rock and roll music from the 60s to the 80s, and his coffee. Matthew was fascinated with air ships and dirigibles. He was also an avid pretty girl watcher.
He loved being with his family all the holidays, and was always worried about someone else.
Surviving him are his sister, Geneva L. Halliday of Clearwater, Fla., and his brothers, Stephen I. York of Buxton, Dana A. York of South Portland, Galen M. York of Brunswick and Timothy G. York of Gorham.
An hour of visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Dolby and Dorr Funeral Chapel, 76 State St., Gorham. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the chapel. Pastor Gary Groves will officiate. Interment will in the family lot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Buxton.
