David M. Wampler Jr died unexpectedly Tuesday November 25, 2008. He was born March 6, 1950 in Toledo Ohio, and was the son of David M. and Barbara Wampler. David was an Eagle Scout, and had attended Whitmer High School in Toledo. He then attended Ohio State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture.
He was manager of North Cape Yacht Club for twenty-four years. During his January lay-offs from the Club, David enjoyed spending time traveling the world. His quests involved visits to Costa Rica, Guatemala, and even China. He enjoyed hiking and had visited the Big Ben National Park in Texas. David was an exceptional gardener, and was a Member of the American Rose Society participating in growing of experimental roses for the Society.
He is survived by his father: David Wampler; a brother: Jeffery Wampler; uncles: Gary (Pat) Owen, Lewis (Judi) Owen, and Steven (Alex) Owen; nieces: Tara Wampler and Jessica Martin, nephews: Joel Wampler and John Martin, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother: Barbara Wampler and a sister: Deborah Gerhart.
