Celebration of Life Services for Nadine Ashmore, 70, will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011, 2 p.m. at the Greenfield United Methodist Church with private family burial in the Greenfield Cemetery. She leaves behind her husband, Lee Ashmore; five children, Krista Scott and husband Alan, Michelle Condie, Lisa Hancock and husband Brian, Jeff Ashmore and wife Stacia and Greg Ashmore and friend Tina. Nadine Ruth Ashmore was born November 20, 1941, the daughter of Clair and Ellen (Poffenburger) Folk at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Adel High School in 1959 and received her RN from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in 1962. She married George Cottle in Nevada in 1964 and was widowed in 1972, leaving her to raise two young daughters, Krista and Michelle. In 1993, in Greenfield, Iowa, Lee Ashmore became her husband and soul mate. Besides her family, Nadine’s interests were decorating with primitives, reading mysteries, and Iowa State basketball. She was a loyal member of the Greenfield United Methodist Church. Besides husband Lee, Nadine is survived by a sister, Judy Sheriff and husband Wendell of Greenfield; brother, Don Folk of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two daughters, Krista Scott and husband Alan of Statesboro, Georgia and Michelle Condie and friend Dan of Chesterton, Indiana; three step children, Lisa Hancock and husband Brian of Severn, Maryland, Jeff Ashmore and wife Stacia of Round Rock, Texas, and Greg Ashmore and friend Tina of Creston, Iowa. She also leaves eight grandchildren, Stacia, Erin, Alyssa, Melina, Gracey, Gray, Gillian, and Reagan; niece, Susanne Sheriff; nephew, Jim Sheriff; other relatives and numerous friends.
