Services for
James Dalton Harrigan, 77, of 192 Buena Vista St., will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Criss Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold W. Mullett officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mr. Harrigan died Thursday afternoon at LPN Convalescent Home, where he had resided since September 1966.
He was born Nov. 26, 1889 in Eau Claire, Wis. to Richard and Ada Engard Harrigan. He had been a Newark resident the past 65 years, coming here from Wis consin. An employee at one time in the Licking County Engineer’s office, he had been retired the past 10 years. Mr. Harrigan was a World War I veteran and a member of Newark Post 85 of the American Legion.
Surviving is his widow, the former Helen Weiant Metz. He was the last of his immediate family. Two sisters are dead.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p. m Sunday. Casket will remain closed.
