LEBANON, Maine —
Carl A. Wood, 77, of Little River Road died early Sunday morning, June 20, 1999 in Rochester, N.H. Born in Lebanon, he was the son of Herbert and Carrie Wiggin Wood. Mr. Wood was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was the owner of Woods Auto Body in East Lebanon.
An avid sportsman, Mr. Wood enjoyed hunting and fishing and was said by his family to have enjoyed participating in softball games, horseshoes, and badminton. He also sponsored area Little League teams.
Surviving is his wife of 58 years Carrie Wiggin Wood
[sic – It is in fact, Edna M. Junkins Wood] of East Lebanon; a son, Blaine (Skip) Wood of East Lebanon; a sister, Adelaide Darling of Spokane, Wash.; a brother, Robert Wood of Lebanon; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Heald Funeral Home, 61 Main St. Springvale, where a memorial service will take place Thursday at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Berwick The Pastor Jack Daniels will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his memory to the Lebanon Fire & Rescue at P.O. Box 430 Lebanon, ME 04027.
