SPRINGVALE — Roberta Castergine, 87, of Springvale, died Dec. 28, 2002 at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born in North Berwick on May 30, 1915, the daughter of Harry and Margie (Snow) Sherburne. She loved yard sales, flea markets and craft shows. She would attend as many as she could, selling and buying. She was known as being as very caring and giving person to her community. She would, as she says help drive "the old folks" to any appointments they had. She would meet her friends "the breakfast club" daily, and she and her best friend Barbara Graham would go out to eat at a local Chinese restaurant a couple of times a week. She was dedicated to Camp Waban, her favorite charity for many years. She would donate a percentage of her proceeds from selling the items at the local fairs. She is survived by three daughters, Maureen Harnden of South Portland, Diane Emery of Arundel and Margie Nickerson of Belfast; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Family services to celebrate her life will be held in the spring. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Waban Projects / Camp Waban, 5 Dunaway Dr., Sanford, ME 04073. Arrangements completed by Heald Funeral Home, Springvale. To leave condolences for the family, read an on-line obituary or for more information, visit www.healdfuneral.com.
