      Barbara Ann Guthrie Becomes Bride of Albert L. Libby Sunday
       Miss Barbara Ann Guthrie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Guthrie of Morehead City and Mr. Albert L. Libby, son of Mrs. Edith M. Price and the late Mr. Hubert Libby of Springvate, Maine, were united in marriage Sunday evening at 8 o’clock in the Franklin Memorial Methodist church.
       The Rev. A. L. Reynolds officiated at the double ring ceremony, performed before an altar covered with ivy and flanked with two baskets of white gladioli. Tall candelabra were on either side of the altar.
       Miss Enid Rose, organist, presented a program of nuptial music and Miss Mary Laura Guthrie, soloist, sang Because and The Lord’s Prayer. The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, Walter Smith, wore a white embroidered ballerina length gown of marquisette over satin with a fitted bodice. portrait neckline and a bouffant skirt. She wore a shoulder length veil of illusion attached to a juliet cap.
       The bride carried a white satin prayer book covered with bridal flowers and showered with satin streamers. The maid of honor, Miss Jean Smoyer, wore a ballerina gown of ice blue taffeta with matching hat and gloves. She carried an arm bouquet of roses.
      Best man for the groom was Robert Gates and ushers were Gerald Davis and Joseph Dixon. Mother of the bride wore for her daughter’s wedding an orchid nylon dress and a corsage of roses tied with orchid ribbon. Mother of the groom was unable to attend.
       After the ceremony the bridal party greeted guests at the church door. Following this, the couple left for a trip to Maine.

      “Miss Barbara Ann Guthrie Honored at Bridal Shower”
       Miss Barbara Ann Guthrie, who was married Sunday night to Albert Libby, was honored at a shower Thursday night at the recreation center. Hostesses were Mrs. Plymouth Willis, Mrs. Herman Guthrie and Mrs. Walter Smith of Morehead City and Mrs. Dallas Willis and Mrs. Earl Noe of Beaufort.
       The bride-to-be was presented with a corsage of red roses and pieces of linen by the hostesses. The 90 guests were served lime punch and white and green block cake from a table centered with a bridal couple surrounded by red roses. Bingo was played and prizes awarded the winners. Miss Norma Swinson presided at the guest book.
