  [S4] Obituary. Charlie Rowe, 88, passed away Saturday November 7, 2009 at Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center. Charlie was born in Dallas County where he lived most of his life. He was a farmer and sold John Deere Equipment for seven years. Charlie was a great supporter of Spurgeon Manor, a Deacon and 73 year member of Church of the Brethren and a volunteer at the Children’s Center Mercy Hospital.  Charlie is survived by his children, C. Dennis Rowe of Roseville, MN and Carol Rowe of Mitchellville; three grandchildren, Nathan (Stacy) Rowe of Hugo, MN, Angela (Darren) Wacker of Ankeny and Heather Rowe (Ryan Henfling) of Minburn; six great grandchildren, Mason, Audrey, Hallie, Abby, Natalie and Maegan; and his siblings, Mary Loughry of Des Moines and John Rowe of Fullerton, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Dorothy, his parents, Hazel and John Rowe and his brother, Robert.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions made to the Children’s Center at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
