Laveta I. “Tweedle” Boyd, 56, Granby, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at her home in Granby, following an illness since 2000. Mrs. Boyd was born Feb. 25,1948, in Washburn, Mo., and moved to Granby in 1979. She was co-valedictorian of her graduating class at Southwest High School in Washburn. She worked as a supervisor at Scholastic in Neosho since it inception and was a member of the Diamond Methodist Church. She and Billy Boyd were married April 7, 1966, at Ritchey, Mo., and he survives. Additional survivors include a son Marty Boyd, Granby, a daughter and son-in-law, Mickie and Loy Mahan, Diamond, her parents Loyd and Delma (Harrell) Ellis, Washburn, a brother, Jim Ellis, Bentonville, Ark., a sister, Frances "Fran" Horton, Diamond and two grandchildren, Asia and Waylon Mahan. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Clark Funeral Home, Granby. The Rev. Gloria Gold and the Rev. Denzil Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Granby Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jolin Williams, Dave Word, Clif Adams, Doug Wade, Brand On-The-Hill, Walter "Buddy" Yockey and Doug Fuller.
