Neosho, Mo. —
Marty Leon Boyd, 44, Cassville, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, in Rocky Comfort. He was born March 10, 1967, in Bentonville, Ark., the son of Billy W. and Laveta “Tweedle” (Ellis) Boyd.
Marty received his education at Southwest School in Washburn and East Newton High School. He was currently enrolled in Crowder College. He was a self-employed musician and was an excellent lead guitarist. He spent time in Nashville, pursuing a music career. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting, computers, horses and especially enjoyed spending time with his fiancée, Michele. He was also president of “Caring For Our Troops.”
Surviving are his fiancée, Michele Gaither, Cassville; his father, Billy Boyd and his wife, Linda, Granby; his maternal grandparents, Loyd and Delma (Harrell) Ellis, Washburn; one sister, Mickie Mahan and her husband, Loy, Neosho; a niece, Asia Mahan; a nephew, Waylon Mahan; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death was his mother; paternal grandparents, Melvin and Minnie (Gasche) Boyd; two uncles, Calvin Boyd and James Ellis; two aunts, Kathryn Ellis and Connie Ellis and a cousin, Roger “Rod” Ellis.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Washburn First Baptist Church. Rev. Glenn Erwin will conduct the services. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
