      WINTHROP - Terry B. Roberts, 73, of Winthrop and Southport, left this world and began his new journey on Monday, April 26, 2010. Terry was born July 10, 1936, in Augusta, the son of Carleton and Lucille (Perry) Roberts.
       He graduated from Winthrop High School in 1954, the University of Maine Orono in 1958, and the New England Institute of Mortuary Science in 1959. On Feb. 8, 1960, he married Janice LaPrise of Gardner, Mass., and they were blessed with 50 wonderful years together.
       He was a member and training officer in the Maine National Guard for 10 years and was an Air Force Reserve Officer.
      He will be deeply missed by his wife of 50 years, Janice; his children, Lynn Roberts Reed and her husband, Steve, of Winthrop, and Leon Roberts and his fiancée, Kimberly Clendening, of Winthrop, and Valerie Starkie and her husband, Michael, of Winterville, N.C.; four grandchildren, Jada Clark and her husband, Jeremy, of Readfield, Ryan Reed of Gunnison, Colo., and Marissa and Malorie Starkie, both of Winterville; a great-grandson, Jack Henry Clark of Readfield; two aunts and several cousins.
       A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 1, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. At his request, following the service at church, all are invited to join in a Louisiana Jazz Funeral Procession from the main gate at Glenside Cemetery on Turkey Lane to his grave.
