DEWAR Gosbee, B. Helen – 91, Lavinia Drive, Truro, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2005, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Belmont, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Annabel (Lightbody) Purdy.
Helen was a CNA at the Colchester Hospital and Hillcrest Manor until her retirement.
She is survived by sons, Gerald (Violet) Gosbee, Amherst; Kenneth, Truro; daughters, June Dewar, North River; Gloria (Mike) Sponagle, Goldboro; stepdaughter, Dianne (Dewar) Spears, Bible Hill; sisters, Esther (Arnold) Matthews and Margaret Totten, both of Welland, Ont.; Charlotte Petit, Oshawa, Ont.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Leslie Gosbee; second husband, Brenton Dewar; son, Charles William "Billy" Gosbee; daughter, Joan E. Gosbee in infancy; great-grandson, Lantz; sisters, Ruth Purdy, Jean Stevenson; brother, Edward Purdy.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Tuesday prior to funeral service at 3 p.m. Tuesday, both in Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, Pastor Connie Stewart will officiate with burial to follow in Hilden Cemetery.
