G. L. Shaw Sr. dies at 50
Gordon L. Shaw Sr., a deputy commissioner in Jefferson Circuit Court, was dead on arrival at about 2:30 p.m. yesterday at Methodist Hospital after suffering a heart attack, according to Deputy Coroner Henry Burchett. Shaw, 50, was a 1950 graduate of the University of Louisville Law School and an active member of the local Democratic Party and a member of the Kentucky Bar Association. He served as precinct committeeman for the party and was a member of the Musicians Union and the Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Henrietta Gore; a daughter, Miss Susan A. Shaw; three sons, Gordon L. Shaw Jr., Ronald M. Shaw and Steven G. Shaw; his mother, Mrs. Gladys M. Shaw; a sister, Mrs. J. A. Williams, and a brother, Clifford F. Shaw, of Baltimore, Md.
Private burial will be tomorrow in Evergreen Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. March 5 at Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church, 4938 Old Brownsboro Road. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church.
