- [S4] Obituary.
Jane Antionette Brustkern (Morse) passed away on Nov. 4, 2015, in Bozeman, Montana surrounded by her children. Jane was born on Aug. 23, 1933, in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the youngest of three children born to William Morse and Ethel Ringer Morse. Jane graduated from North High in Omaha, Nebraska. On Nov. 2, 1951, she married Richard (Dick) Brustkern in Omaha, Nebraska. They were happily married for nearly 64 years and were blessed with a loving family; Ben (deceased, May 21, 2010), Joe (children, Mandi, Nycole and Ellie), Pete (wife, Kari, and children, Kaycee, Colter and Mattie) and Emily (children, Cale, Carter and Cy). Jane and Dick settled in Bozeman over 45 years ago and found it to be the perfect place to raise their family. They enjoyed countless adventures along with camping, hiking, and picnicking in the area. Jane was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She spent countless hours in the kitchen preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. There was always room at her table for friends and extended family and no visitor ever left without tasty treats for later. Her Milky Way cake, cinnamon rolls and Christmas caramel recipes are treasured family secrets. Jane was a talented seamstress and quilter. She created many cherished heirlooms including quilts for each of her children, detailed garments, favorite stuffed animals, and even repaired car and couch seats. Jane delighted in sharing even the smallest details of the lives of each member of her family and took every opportunity to go out to lunch, talk on the phone and go on special shopping trips. She loved the holiday season and always had a warm fire and hot coco ready to celebrate finding the perfect Christmas tree. Jane cherished spoiling her grandchildren. She never missed sending them special notes and presents for every single holiday. She willingly joined them in whatever activities they were involved in and loved being part of their adventures. Jane’s greatest gift was her willingness to listen patiently without passing judgment. Her sensible advice will long be remembered. She lived her life in service to her family and was wholeheartedly in love with Dick. When Dick passed away six weeks prior, Jane kept her chin up and put one foot in front of the other. Now she has gone ahead to be with him and prepare our new home. Now we have three guardian angels watching over us until we meet again. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at 2 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in Bozeman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jane’s name to the Bozeman Deaconess Cancer Center, 915 Highland Blvd., Bozeman, MT 59715. Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service. www.dokkennelson.com
