      BROCKTON — Services for William F. Marchant, 79, of Brockton, active with the American Legionn, will be held at 11 tomorrow in the Hall Funeral Home. He died Friday after a brief illness.
       Marchant, an Army Air Corps veteran of World War I, organized and managed the first American Legion baseball team in Brockton. He was a past adjudant of Brockton Post 35, A.L. He was a retired employee of Woodward’s Automobile Accessories Inc.
       He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Frederick L. Paquette of Brockton; a brother, Chester of Fichtburg; and three sisters, Mrs. Florence Smart, Mrs. Grace Hill and Loretta Marchant, all of Fichtburg. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
