York Beach, Maine – Barbara Marchant Killoran, 87, wife of retired Mass. State Police Major James L. Killoran, of Nicole Road, and formerly of Maynard, MA died peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2014. She was born February 17, 1927 in Concord, MA. A daughter of the late William and Hannah (Clowry) Marchant. Along with her husband of 64 years, James L. Killoran; she leaves a daughter, Deborah Sheridan and her husband Thomas of Maynard, MA and York Beach, ME; a sister, Priscilla Mayer of Arlington, VA; two granddaughters, Mia (Sheridan) Hayes and her husband John of Sudbury, MA and Brooke Sheridan and her husband Douglas Thivierge of Newburyport, MA; four great grandchildren, Drew, Jack, and Carter Hayes, and Alexander Thivierge. She is predeceased by a son, David J. Killoran, two brothers, Donald and Richard Marchant and a sister, Elizabeth Marchant. She was loved by all who knew her. She loved to dance and have fun. Barbara and Jim were fixtures at the band concerts at York’s Ellis Park for many years. She was very creative with her arts and crafts and loved to paint. The family would especially like to thank the staff at the Browning Unit of Sentry Hill for the extraordinary care they gave Barbara. She was very happy at Sentry Hill and made many wonderful friendships with the staff and residents. Funeral services will be private.
