JOHN ARTHUR SLATER RICHARDS May 31, 1906 - January 4, 2001 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Richards. He passed away peacefully, following a short illness, at Concordia Hospital on January 4, 2001, at the age of 94 years.
John will be sadly missed by his wife Bessie; sons, David (Elizabeth) and Don (Heather) and his grandchildren, Lisa (Dave), Jonathon (Chloe), Leslie (Gord), and Beverly (Craig). He was predeceased by his brothers, Sam, Gordon and Laurie.
John was born in Nova Scotia and moved to Winnipeg at an early age where he resided until his passing. He spent his entire working career at the Canadian National Railways in Transcona except for service in the Canadian Navy during the Second World War. Dad was a long-standing member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows serving in many capacities and having received his pin for 75 years of service.
Our sincere thanks to the staff at Concordia Hospital for your compassion and care. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so desire donations may be made to the charity of their choice. At Dads request cremation has taken place, and a private family interment will take place at a later date. GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN ST. 338-7111
