WILLIAM (RED) GEORGE HAROLD McLEOD – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father and grandfather on September 6, 2004 at the age of 71 with his family and friends at his side.
Bill will be remembered by his son Ian (Mary-Lynn) McLeod of Winnipeg; daughters, Sandi McLeod-Hill of Winnipeg and Wendy Inman of Penticton, BC; grandchildren, Andrew, Derek and Erin McLeod, Brennan and Gordon Hill and Corinne Inman; sister Lorraine Hagen of Ta Ta Creek, BC and mother of his children June McLeod of Winnipeg; and by numerous nieces, nephews, friends; as well as Kristy and Looney.
Bill was predeceased by his mother and father, Esther and William McLeod and brothers, Everett and Clarence McLeod.
Bill was born November 18, 1932 and raised in Transcona, where he worked for the CNR till he retired in 1988, after 38 years of dedication and hard work. Since retirement Bill has dedicated his time to Alcoholics Anonymous and his greatest passions, his children, grandchildren and his cabin in Wade, ON. We would like to put out a special thank you to the nurses and doctors of the 2nd floor E wing of Riverview Hospital for their loving care and support. Also a special thank you Lindy, Garry, Andy and Keith for all the support you have given our father and the special friendship and bond you formed with him. We know he will forever remain in all of our hearts. The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to make a donation to the Lung Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
