ANTOINETTE JOSEPHINE RAND On May 27, 2012, Antoinette (Toni) Rand passed away peacefully at the Betel Home Foundation in Selkirk, Manitoba. She was in her 93rd year.
Toni is survived by her loving family; sons Earl (Elizabeth) Rand, Brian (Jeannine) Rand, daughter Donna (Wayne) Jessee, five grand-children; Sean Rand (Connie), Diane Rand (Scott) and David Rand (Rachel), Mark Jessee (Patti) and Elizabeth Jessee, eight great-grandchildren, sisters Stella Andrusiak and Rose Yaworski, numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Everett, sisters Albina and Winnifred and daughter-in-law Joyce Rand.
Antoinette (Toni) Rand was daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many and lived those roles with honour, dignity, grace, compassion and a deep sense of caring. Toni was kind, generous and sincere and was a great friend loved by many. For many years she was a loyal and active member of the Rebekah Lodges of Transcona and Rainy River. As she aged and before her health began to fail, she loved spending her summers at the family cottage at Morson on Lake of the Woods with family and friends and many winters in Hawaii.
The family would like to thank the many nurses and all the staff of the Betel Home Foundation for their dedicated service, compassion and love they demonstrated throughout our mother’s residence in that facility. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery Crematorium, 1800 Day Street, Winnipeg. Lynda Trenholm will officiate with interment to follow in the family plot, Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and in Toni’s memory, donations to Betel Home Foundation or the Transcona United Church Memorial Fund would be greatly appreciated. “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted” – Ecclesiastes 3 Funeral Arrangements in Care of Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery Crematorium 1800 Day Street 224-1525
