Dorothy (Campbell) May, 84, of Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday evening April 23, 2014 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home after an illness. Dorothy was born in Gardner, May 24, 1929, daughter of the late William Campbell and Diana (Rouleaux) Sund and has lived in Gardner all her life. She married her beloved husband Thomas E. May June 3, 1950 and together they have shared over 63 years of marriage. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving mother and devoted loving wife. She was a very hard worker. Dorothy worked for the former Heywood Wakefield Company repairing blemishes in chairs for 27 years, and for Monty Tech for 14 years. Besides her husband, Dorothy will be sadly missed by her two children; Robert T. May and Deborah D. May both of Templeton, one grandchild, and nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by one sister Winifred Tofeldt, and her step-father Leonard Sund. Relatives and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Dorothy’s life by gathering for calling hours in the Lamoureux Fletcher and Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner, Wednesday April 30, 2014 from 6-8PM.
