      BENTON, Margaret Born on May 20, 1917, and entered into rest April 1, 2008. Survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Colonel Robert Benton. Also survived by her two daughters Barbara Batt and Patricia (Cliff) Cretan, sister Hazel Nicol, brother Bertil Peterson, grandchildren; Jennifer (Darren) Waddell, Cynthia Cretan, and Jeffrey Cretan, and great grandchildren; Ainsley and Parker Waddell. Margaret graduated with a Masters from UC Berkeley, in 1938. She then worked as a teacher in Hanford, Calif. A graveside service will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, Calif., on Friday, April 4, 2008, at 10:00 a.m.
