DEVANEY, Thelma Rebecca Virginia – 79, Centrelea, Annapolis, died May 2, 1995, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born at Round Hill, Annapolis, she was a daughter of the late Alfred Tennyson and Luella (Morse) Spurr. She was a life member of the Women’s Missionary Society, member of the Centrelea United Baptist Church and life member of Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, branch 33, Bridgetown.
Surviving are a son, James and wife Doris, Kanata, Ont.; daughters, Luella Margaret (Mrs. Albert Perkins), West Indian Road, Hants Co.; Cecelia Diane George and companion Bernard Caldwell, Centrelea; son-inlaw, Allan Haley, Bridgetown; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, in Canada and the United States; brothers, Vernon Morse and wife Germaine, Dartmouth; Alfred Tennyson, Wilmot, Annapolis Co.
She was predeceased by her stepmother, Elsie Mae Whynott; husband, Cecil James; daughter, Grace Darling Haley; sisters, Laura, Marion, Grace, Marie, Marjorie; brothers, Gilford, Phillip, Lewis, William, Irving.
Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Robert L. Hall Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday in Centrelea United Baptist Church, Rev. George Neily officiating. Burial in Centrelea Cemetery.
