MELANSON, Flora Luella – 83, Middleton passed away January 7, 2011 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Nictaux South she was the daughter of the late Gilford and Clara (Woodworth) Spurr.
Flora loved to cross stitch, knitting, crochet, doing crosswords and writing songs. Flora loved doing things with her family, children, grandchildren and even the neighbours children, building forts, coasting, skating and swimming. Flora is survived by sons George "Eddie", Whitby Ontario, Allen (Kim), Lawrencetown, Donald (Theresa), Nictaux; daughters Phyllis (Joe) Blancher, Ingersoll Ontario, Sheila Williston, Beachville Ontario; grandchildren Melisa (Steve) Phillips, Julie (Shawn) North, Amber (John) Melanson, Joe (Carrie), James, Shaun, Vernon, Nick (Janet), Ron (Juanita); great grandchildren Brynn, Leah, Nicole, Kristen, Lauren, Avery, Maddison, Johnny, John and Greg.
Besides her parents Flora was predeceased by her husband Joseph; son Bernie.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday January 10, 2011 in the Nictaux Cemetery with Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in Flora’s memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
