      Royal City Flier Dies in Air Collision
      Sg. Pilot Robert Spurr, son of H. I. Spurr, teacher at Duke of Connaught High School, and Mrs. Spurr, 317 Third Avenue, New Westminster, was one of two airmen killed in the mid-air collision Wednesday night between two Avro-Anson training planes attached to No. 8 Observers’ School at Ancienne Lorette, Quebec. The other airman was Sgt. Pilot F. H. Hathaway of Whitney Point, N. Y. The RCAF said that a civilian, P. Beck, Quebec, son of G. R. Beck, general manager of Quebec Airways, riding with Sgt. Spurr, escaped with severe body injuries and frozen feet. Hospital authorities said he is recovering.
