SWEENEY, Ronald Frederick – 75, Berwick, Kings, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 30, 2007, at his home, surrounded by many of his loving family. Born in Viewmount, Kings, he was a son of the late Frederick C. and Genevieve L. (Howell) Sweeney. Ronald was a carpenter by trade and was an avid dart player, hunter and fisherman. He was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ortona Branch No. 69, Berwick. He had pulled on a tug of war team attending the Provincial Championship in 1967. Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Gloria G. (Wambolt) Sweeney; sons, Curtis Sweeney, Morristown; Bartley (Valerie Wood) Sweeney, Edmonton, Alta.; Shane (Margaret) Sweeney, South Alton; Aaron (Jeannie) Sweeney, Dempsey Corner; daughters, Rhonda (Alden), Berwick; Karan (LeRoy Neilson) Moody, Moncton, N.B.; Colleen (Paul) Martin, Berwick; Kimberlea (Darrell Pelton) Sweeney, Berwick; Catherine (Keith) Vidito, Berwick; Jean Sweeney, Toronto, Ont.; sisters, Marion (Myles) Balsor, Port George; Hilda (Morris, deceased) Ruggles, Perry Sound, Ont.; Helen (Fred, deceased) Wagstaff, Aylesford; Beatrice (Alan, deceased) Whittier, Somerset; sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Robert, deceased) Sweeney, Berwick; Linda (Kenneth, deceased), Viewmount; brothers-in-law, Colin (Marie Pineo) MacDonald, Lakeville; Lorimer (Shirley, deceased) Clem, Viewmount; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by son, Paul Sweeney; sisters, Eleanor Coleman, Freda MacDonald, Shirley Clem; brothers, Robert and Kenneth Sweeney. There will be visitation for Ronald 7-9 p.m. tonight in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, NS B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, Rev. Marilyn Rose officiating. Burial in Berwick Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
