Shirley Grout Spann, a resident of the Brookside area in Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024. She was born on January 23, 1931 to Jack and Dale Grout. They preceded her in death.
She was married to William “Bill” Spann for 49 years and he preceded her in death as well as a brother, John Grout. She leaves behind her son, Mark Spann and wife, Susan; her daughter, Cathy Warrens and husband, Doug; and her grandchildren, Zach and MacKenzie Warrens.
Shirley was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren, along with her beloved dogs. She was an active volunteer and wonderful friend. Shirley enjoyed tennis, sailing and working in her garden. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Private committal service with urn placement will take place in St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Columbarium in Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Shirley’s memory to a dog rescue of your choice. Arrangements entrusted with the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville.
