FARMINGTON, ME —
Harold L. Lake, 85, lifelong resident of Farmington died Monday, June 16, 2008, at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Farmington, the son of Leon D. And Lillian M. (Paul) Lake. He was educated in the schools of Farmington.
He married Iva Thomas on Feb. 14, 1942.
Harold was a veteran of World War II serving in the 3rd division of the Army fighting on Anzio Beach. He was the manager for New England Furniture in Farmington for 20 years. After retiring, he worked 10 years as a security guard at Mt. Blue High School. He was a past member of the American Legion Roderick-Crosby Post 28 of Farmington; and a member of Henderson Memorial Baptist Church. Harold enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife, Iva, of Farmington, two sons, Vincent Lake Sr. and his wife, Betty; and Arnold Lake and companion, Bridgette Cross; three daughters Shirley and her husband, Ken Beane; Linda and her husband, Jim Dwinal; and Cindy and her husband, Ron Bartlett; one brother Lloyd and his wife, George-Ann Lake; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, and three sisters Arlene Luciano, Frances Roy and Gwen Ouellette.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Fairview Cemetery in Farmington with the Rev. Stan Wheeler officiating. Friends wishing may make donations in Harold’s name to Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, P.O. Box 797, Wilton, ME 04294. Arrangements are by Dan and Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan, Maine.
