Ralph Willard (Bill) Lake of Farmington passed away on Wednesday, May 23, at his home.  He was born on July 22, 1924, a son of Ralph and Florence (Bubier) Lake. He attended schools in Wilton. He served his country in honor during World War II, and was taken prisoner during the Battle of the Bulge. He was held prisoner for three months, 11 days, four hours, 15 minutes, being released on Good Friday, March 30, 1944.  He started his career in the shoe industry with G.H. Bass, becoming superintendent and later working with other local shoe factories as well. After retiring and living in Florida he worked at Winn Dixie until age 75. Due to ill health he moved back to Maine in 2006.  He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Nancy; four daughters, Londa Dennett, and husband, Ron, of Vassalboro, Karen Sweetser, and husband, Jeff, of West Farmington, Sue Cantrell, and husband, Jim, of Temple and Kim Alexander, and husband, Jim, of Wilton; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents; four sisters; a granddaughter, Jennifer Dennett; and three grandsons, Jeremy, Jason and Justin Alexander.
