Roger B. Keough 57 of North Street died June 3 1992 at his home after a brief fight against cancer He was born in Lewiston Nov 1, 1934 the son of Bernard and Teresa Keough.
He graduated from Edward Little High School in the Class of 1953 and married Patricia Aaron on Oct 20 1972. Mr Keough was a partner in SMD Metal Fabrication in Mechanic Falls and had been in the metal fabrication business for more than 30 years. He traveled extensively across Maine and New Hampshire and was a familiar face in paper mills and other businesses throughout Maine. He was a member of Ashlar Lodge 105 AF 8 AM in Auburn for more than 30 years and became Ashlar’s youngest master in 1966. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and the Kora Shrine. He became a member of the Mechanic Falls Town Council in 1972 and served for nine years as council chairman. He organized the Industrial Development Council in Mechanic Falls in 1981 and served as its president for seven years. He also organized the Androscoggin County 4-H Beef Club and was active in projects involving young people. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and obtained his private pilot’s license and flew for several years.
He is survived by his wife of Mechanic Falls, his parents of Auburn, one son Roger B Keough II of Mechanic Falls, three daughters : Lisa Gellatly of Auburn, Ruth Quirion of Monmouth, and Jamie Morrison of Lovell, one brother Richard of Hebron and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Saturday at the Raymond Funeral Home 5 Dwinal St Mechanic Falls with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanic Falls. Family and friends may call at the funeral home 7-9 pm. Friday Services will be conducted 7:30 pm Friday by Ashlar Lodge No 105. In lieu of flowers those who wish may contribute in his memory to the Roger Keough Project Graduation Fund care of Steven Galway Edward Little High School Auburn.
