Robert L. Parker of Halifax passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the age of 87.
He was the beloved husband of Joan Campbell Parker and former husband of Doris Wilmoth of Middleboro. Robert was a long haul truck driver for many years and enjoyed model airplanes, cranberry artifacts, playing chess and his antique cars. Robert saw combat during the Korean War and was very proud to be an Airbourne Ranger and saw action at the battle of Bloody Ridge. He was awarded two bronze Stars, the Korean Service Medal, a CIB, and the National Defense Medal.
He was the loving father of Cynthia Messia of Brockton, Teri Roberts of New Mexico, Kimberly Zanellato, Tracy Abacherli both of Halifax, Stephen Parker of Middleboro, and Donald Parker of Randolph; the stepfather of Kim Deegan of Halifax, the late Craig Campbell of Hanson, and Kate Karling of Plympton.
Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He also leaves 2 sisters, Louise Goodreau of Wareham and Frances Scott of FL
Visiting hours will be held in the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home, 4 West Washington St. (corner of Rte. 58), Hanson, on Tuesday, April 10, 6-8 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
