ROCKFORD —
Warren Allen Dayhoff, 77, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord at 5:05 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008. Born April 3, 1931, the son of William and Lucille (Stukenberg) Dayhoff. A lifelong Rockford resident, Warren graduated from Rockford West High School in 1949. Married Shirley May Fagerstrom on Jan. 11, 1951.
He worked as a baker for many years at both Colonial and Sunbeam bakeries. Warren retired from Rockford Memorial Hospital after 26 years. As a former member of Loves Park Evangelical Free Church where he was baptized, his faith was a constant part of his life. Warren was always happiest when he was busy. He loved family reunions, liked to make people laugh, and will be missed by many. He held a special place in his heart for his granddaughter, Angel.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; son, Stephen and his wife, Patricia; special granddaughter, Angelique Diane Sims (Lovelace); great-granddaughter, Arynn Mishelle Sims; and many cousins, including Linda Wilson.
Predeceased by parents; brother, Lee Earnest; infant daughter, Susan Marie; and infant son, Michael Lee.
Funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7000 W. State St., Rockford, with Chaplain Joe Militello officiating. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, in the funeral home. Burial in Willwood Cemetery. Special thanks to Transitions Hospice and the staff at Rockford Supportive Living.
