ROCKFORD —
Shirley May Dayhoff, 79, of Rockford went to be with her Lord and her husband Friday evening, Oct. 12, 2012. She was born Jan. 7, 1933, in Rockford, daughter of Gust Fagerstrom and Virginia Mercaitis. A lifelong Rockford area resident, she married Warren Allen Dayhoff on Jan. 11, 1951.
As a former member of Loves Park Evangelical Free Church where she was baptized, her faith was a constant part of her life. Spending time with her granddaughter, neighbors and TOPS Club friends brought a great deal of joy to her life after the loss of the love of her life, her husband, Warren, in 2008.
Shirley was also predeceased by infant daughter, Susan Marie; and infant son, Michael Lee.
She is survived by son, Stephen (Patricia); very special granddaughter, Angelique Diane Sims; and great-granddaughter, Arynn Mishelle Sims.
Cremation rights will be accorded; inurnment will be in Willwood Burial Park alongside her beloved soul mate, Warren, and their children.
