Margaret Cowan Brannon, 81, Clarksville, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, in Chattanooga.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. William T. Bryant officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church at First Presbyterian Church. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Oct. 12,1925 in Lexington, Mo., to the late Dr. Robert L. and Elizabeth Cowan.
She graduated from North Texas State Teachers College and obtained her Masters in Christian Education from Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Va.
She was employed as a high school librarian until retirement. She was an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville. She volunteered with Crisis Call Line, the United Way and Barksdale Elementary School, and was a member of the Clarksville Garden Club.
Mrs. Brannon is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth Brannon-Lopez, Dallas,Texas, Sally Jane Brannon, Austin, Texas, Carolyn Brannon Snyder, Chattanooga, and Barbara Brannon Starling, Hopkinsville, Ky.; and eight grandchildren, Sarah Lopez, Catherine Lopez, Linda Lopez, Samuel Snyder, Jennifer Snyder, Sara Starling, Susanna Starling and Margaret Starling; and one brother, Mr. William C. Cowan, Spring, Texas.
