Clarence R. Pelton, 75, of 1780 Pryor Street, Halifax, died in Victoria General Hospital, Wednesday (14 Aug 1980). Born in Berwick, he was a son of the late Mayor and Mrs. A. L. Pelton of Kentville. He was owner and president of Overhead Door of Nova Scotia and a past president of Halifax Kiwanis Club. He was also a life member of the Commercial Travellers Association, an active member of First Baptist Church, a member of the Mayflower Curling Club, the construction association and the Board of Trade. Surviving besides his wife, the former Evelyn Heatley, are two daughters, Judith (Mrs. E. S. Whalen), Dartmouth; Lynn (Mrs. David Roe), Toronto; three sisters, Bernice (Mrs. Ralph Harris), Coral Gables, Fla.; Thelma (Mrs. T. Walker), Miami, Fla.; esther (Mrs. A. . Haas), West Palm Beach, Fla.; and two grandchildreen. He was predeceased by one brother, Harold. The body is in Snow’s Funeral Home, Windsor Street. Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Wm. Carey Harvey officiating. Burial will be in South Berwick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
