      Sydney - Lillian Ruth Sharples, of 312 Esplanade, Sydney, formerly of Coxheath, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
       Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Lillian Margaret (Johnson) Johnson. She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church.
       She is survived by twin daughters, Heather Campbell, Sydney and Gale (John) Cassidy, Calgary; one sister, Ella MacDonald, Sydney.
       She was predeceased by her husband, Ross Sharples, two sisters, Doris Margaret Davies and Nan Jefferson, three brothers, Edward, Clarence and Donald.
       There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held in Sydney Memorial Chapel, Monday at 11 am with the Rev. Sharon Irving officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
