Pfc. Harvey C. Holland Is Killed in Germany Pfc. Harvey C. Holland, son of Mrs. N. O. Holland, 1861 Laurel street, was killed In action In Germany on March 8. The war department has notified his widow, Mrs. Vera Holland, 6511 Henderson street. Private Holland had been overseas for seven months and was serving with the Third army. In addition to his mother and widow, he is survived by two small daughters, Barbara Janice and Judy Erlene; a brother, Sgt. Benjamin B. Holland, who has been wounded In action and is now In a hospital In Ohio; and three sisters, Mrs. Cora Homan, 1803 Laurel street, Mrs. Vera Scheffe of Albuquerque, N. M and Mrs. James Kremenek of Shreveport. Private Holland was a member of the Parkview Baptist church and was employed by the Big Chain store on Fairfield avenue before entering the army. REBURIAL SERVICE HERE ON SUNDAY FOR PFV. HARVEY HOLLAND Pfc. Harvey C. Holland, who was killed in action in Germany, March 6, 1945, will be reburied in Forest Park Cemetery after a funeral service at 4 p.p. Sunday at Osborn’s funeral home. The Rev. E. F. Wallace, pastor of Lake Shore Baptist church, will officiate. He will be assisted by the Rev. L. L. Oliver, pastor of Fair Park Christian Church. Holland, son of Mrs. N. O. Holland of Shreveport, was 34 years old when he was killed. He lived on 66th street, and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Holland served overseas with the Third army for seven months. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Vera Humphrey Holland; his mother; two daughters, Barbara J. and Judith Holland; one sister, Mrs. W. C. Homan, Shreveport; and one brother, Bennie Holland, now serving in the army in New York. — The Shreveport Journal, Saturday, July 31, 1948.
