Helen June Pullins of Decatur, IL departed this world to meet our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 9:55 a.m. in Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.
Funeral service will be 2 PM Tuesday August 14, 2007, at Hidden Valley Community Church in Decatur, IL. - Pastor Todd Tuggle presiding. Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Monday, August 13, 2007, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery, Harristown, IL. Memorials in Helen’s name may be made to her family.
Helen, born April 23, 1941 in Decatur, IL, was the daughter of George H. & Lucile Davenport and the late John R. Goodbrake. She married Larry R. Reynolds on February 14, 1959. The two were married for seventeen years. She later married Richard “Dick” “Rinky Dink” Mason Pullins, Sr. on August 27, 1988 in Decatur, IL.
Mrs. Pullins was a member of Hidden Valley Community Church in Decatur, IL. She attended Durfee Grade School, Dalton City Grade School and Mt. Zion High School. She worked at Linn & Scrugg Co., Kelly Potato Chip Co., Grigoleit Co., Caterpillar Inc. and the Viking Lounge.
Surviving are her children Stephen T. Reynolds of Decatur, IL, Deborah S. Turney of Fort Smith, AR., Lori A. Leihser and husband Joel of Decatur, IL., and Catherine L. Saffer and husband Rod of Decatur, IL. Sisters Rose M. Crane and husband Jack of Sullivan, IL., Dorothy “Dot” Burnett and husband James of Talihina, OK., and brother Robert “Bobby” D. Rollinger, Jr. of Decatur, IL., step-sisters Mary Lou Eckart and husband Donald of Decatur, IL., Leona Cobb and husband Alfred of Mayfield, KY, Peggy Davenport and partner Nikki of Yakima, WA, step-brothers John C. Goodbrake and wife Betty of Decatur, IL., Dale W. Goodbrake and wife Sandy of Cotter, AR., Ronald F. Goodbrake and wife Billie of Terrell, TX., James D. Goodbrake and wife Debbie of Decatur, IL., and George W. Davenport and wife Jackie of Oreana, IL., Grandchildren Kenneth J. Leihser and wife Amanda, Heather A. McIntyre and husband Justin, Brandi K. Leihser, Traver N. Turney, Neal S. Leihser, Jennifer M. Saffer, and Toby S. Turney. Great Granddaughter Selena M. Leihser, many nieces and nephews who she was the "Favorite Aunt Helen", and also dear special friend Jim Turner of Hot Springs, AR.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard “Dick”, grandparents Walter and Druciller Donaldson, father Robert D. Rollinger Sr., step-father John Goodbrake, sister Sarah L. Helen J. Reynolds and Richard M. Pullins, both of Decatur, were married Aug. 27, 1988, in Pilgrim Lutheran Church. The bride’s parents are Lucile Davenport of Crossville and the late R.D. Rollinger Sr. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. B.M. Pullins of Decatur. He is a pipefitter for Petersburg Plumbing and Heating. They plan to take a wedding trip to Florida and live at 621 W. Harrison St.
