Clara Virginia Miller, daughter of John and Kathryn Suman, was born October 4, 1863, at Hagerstown, MD., and parted this life July 22, 1934, after an illness of several months. Aged 70 years, 9 months and 18 days. Upon the death of her father, when yet a small child, she came with her mother and the other children to Ogle Co., Illinois, where she resided until grown to woman-hood. In the year 1886 she was happily married to Daniel M. Miller of Mount Morris, Illinois, and who also originally came from Hagerstown, Md. Two years later in the spring of 1889, they moved to Vinton, Iowa, where they resided for the next 10 years. It was at this place, in the year 1891, that she with her husband accepted Christ as personal Saviour and united with the Church of the Brethren in which communion she happily and loyally labored and kept full faith until the end. In 1899 the family moved to Davis Co., MO., where they lived until 1905 when they moved to Warrensburg, MO., where they have since resided.
To this union were born two children, Cletus E., who preceded her in death by accident 16 years ago, and Glenn E. of Kansas City, MO. Also a little girl of four months, Pearl May, was adopted in the family and who also preceded the mother in death five years ago near this time at the age of 22.
Those surviving to deeply mourn her loss are her husband, Daniel M. Miller, one son, Glenn E. Miller and three grandchildren. Also, one brother, two half-brothers, one half-sister and one step-sister, besides a host of friends.
