Cynthia P. Estes, 78, died June 21, 2012, at home in Colorado Springs. She was born September 28, 1933, to Arthur F. and Ina S. Peabody. After graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1955, she married Everett E. Estes. They moved to Colorado in 1957 where both pursued careers in education. Following her husband’s death in Alamosa, Colorado, she returned to Colorado Springs where she spent her final professional years at Wasson High School. Since her retirement in 1988, "Cyndy" served on a number of community boards, traveled extensively, and enjoyed life. She is survived by a few cousins and a number of cherished friends. Estes-Peabody
Ann Peabody became Ihe bride of Everett E. Estes, Eau Claire, Wis., Saturday in Center for Continuation Study chapel, University of Minnesota. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Peabody, Detroit, Mich, formerly of St. Louis Park, and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. Estes, 1919 S. Victoria road, St. Paul. Mrs Charles A. Hanke was matron of honor and [...] of St Paul was best man. Other attendants were La Verne Bondeson. St. Paul; William Nelson, V. St. Paul; Donald D. Estes, brother of the groom, and David R. Haight, both of South St. Paul. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Center lounge. The groom’s parents were hosts at the bridal dinner The couple will be at home in Eau Claire Thursday after a brief honeymoon.
