      Larry Fales, age 79 of Osceola, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.
      Larry Michael Fales was born on August 13, 1943 in Iowa City, IA, the son of Harold Karl and and Bonnie Jeonie (Watts) Fales. Bonnie remarried Dick Hodges who raised Larry as his own in the Madrid area.
       Larry was united in marriage with Connie Kinney and welcomed two sons, Joseph and Richard, along with Connie’s five children. They were all Larry’s children in his heart even after he and Connie separated.
       Larry was a talented mechanic all his life. While wintering in Florida each year, he would work on cars along the way to cover the cost of the trip. All of Larry’s trips were in Old Blue his pickup truck.
       Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Roy Hodges. He is survived by his children, Richard Fales, Joseph Fales, Tim Stalley, Betty (Sean) Gilson, Rhonda (Calvin) Snyder, Utonda (Darrell) Flesher and Larry Peuker; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; and his brother, Frank Hodges of Leon.
       Cremation will take place. There will be no services held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.
