Orley Burton Anderson, 84, departed this life on July 25, 2005 after a long struggle with his health. He was born in Oregon, Illinois on October 4, 1920 to Orley G. and Ivah Tilton Anderson.
He spent his youth in Chana, Illinois, a small farming town, experiencing the hardships of the depression. He married Helen Irene Franklin on June 12, 1943 in Rochelle, Illinois. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Rockford, Illinois where they spent all of their lives until moving to Utah in 1991. Orley was a supervisor in different industries including, Chrysler and Ipsen Industries. To their union were born three children: Janet (Robert) Bartell, Gary (Nancy) Anderson, and Steve (Diane) Anderson. They were sealed as an eternal family in the Salt Lake Temple after the missionaries knocked on their door in 1959 and they accepted the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. He served in the bishopric and loved to teach in the Sunday School, sharing the Gospel with investigators. He built several houses with Helen and blessed the lives of his children by working on their homes. With their RV they crisscrossed the country visiting historical and Church sites.
Orley is survived by his wife Helen, his three children and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services honoring Orley will be held on Saturday, July 30 at the Woods Cross Stake Center, 2064 S. 800 W, Woods Cross. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. Funeral at 11:00 a.m. Burial in the Bountiful Cemetery.

Mt. Morris, Ill., June 30. — Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Helen Franklin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Franklin, and Orley B. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Anderons, of Chana, which was solemnized Saturday, June 12, at 11 o’clock. Rev. O. H. Linnemeier read the marriage ceremony at the Lutheran church in Rochelle. The couple was unattended.
Mrs. Anderson was a member ot the class of 1943 of the Mt. Morris high school and the groom attended the Rochelle and Ashton schools, graduating in 1938 from the latter. He is employed with the Whitcomb locomotive plant in Rochelle.
The bride and groom are at home at 1000 North 8th street, Rochelle.
