CHADWICK, Ill. —
Roy Daniel Palmer, 72, of Chadwick, died Sunday at CGH Medical Center, Sterling.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Lutheran Church, near Forreston on West Grove Road. Burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery, Leaf River. There will be no visitation.
He farmed with his brother, Donald, near Lanark and Pecatonica for 40 years, retiring in 1983. He served as a corporal in the Army during World War II in the Hawaiian islands. He was a member of Carroll and Stephenson counties Farm Bureaus and Chadwick American Legion. He enjoyed sightseeing, hunting and fishing.
Memorials may be made to Chadwick Evangelical Free Church or American Heart Association.
Survivors include his mother; Ruth Palmer, Chadwick; sisters, Lavada (Mrs. Chester) Robinson, Vallejo, Calif.; and Loretta (Mrs. Willard) Fry, Rockford; a special nephew, Robert Palmer, Durand; and several nieces and nephews.
