MT. MORRIS — Clifford A. Snyder, 79, Rockford, died Tuesday afternoon at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Rockford, following a long illness. He was bom Dec. 26, 1896, in Hagerstown, Md., the son of Oliver and Anna (Neff) Snyder, and married Carrie Slifer July 4, 1926, in Oregon. He was a farmer in the Oregon area for most of his life until he moved to Rockford in 1949 to engage in truck farming. Survivors include his widow; a son, Ray O., Rockford; a daughter, Mrs. Orville (Mae) Torone, Winnebago; and seven grandchildren. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Finch Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Martin, pastor of Memorial Baptist Church, Rockford, officiating. Burial will be jn Silver Creek Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
