      SUMNER VERE MCDUFFEE
      Funeral for Sumner Vere McDuffee, 77, who died Sunday at St Jude’s Home, Gresham, will be Thursday at 1 pm at the McGinnis & Wilhelm Mortuary. Born in Hawaii, Mr McDuffee had lived in Portland 70 years and was for many years office manager for Fleischner, Mayer & Co. He had been employed in later years by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission and Stereocraft Engineering.
       Mr McDuffee was a member of Portland Lodge No 55, AF&AM Knights Templar, Al Kader Shrine and Rose City Chapter Eastern Star. He leaves the widow, Pearl,; a daughter, Mrs Barbara Harlow; a son, Major Donald V McDuffee; brothers Robert J McDuffee Sr, Waldport; and Leroy M McDuffee, Canby; sisters Mrs Phila Klamm and Mrs Cora Hartman, both of Seattle.

      Mr. S. Vere McDuffee and Miss Pearl Savage were united in marriage at 2 o’clock this afternoon at the residence of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Chas Keifer, in the third wasd (sp.), in the presence of a good sized company of relatives and friends. Rev. SA Douglas performed the ceremony. Mr. Fred Ward officiated as best man and Mrs. Ward as bride’s maid. The fine looking couple made a splendid appearance as they received the congratulations of those present. The ceremony was performed in the midst of very pretty decorations. Many choice presents were received as expressions of appreciation. A fine luncheon was served and the happy couple left on the afternoon train for their future home in Portland, where the groom has a responsible position, a young man of superior attainments. The bride is a graduate of Albany high school, a bright and popular young lady.
