Burial of Eugene Chilson
Funeral services for Eugene Chilson, late of Minneapolis, were conducted by the Masonic fraternity at Ocheyedan Sunday. He died in Agency, Iowa, October 15.
Mr.Chilson for several years was station agent for the Rock Island railroad at Ocheyedan and was well known in this county.He was born in Rutland, Vt., May 25, 1846. In 1861 at the age of 15 he enlisted in Company K, First Regiment Vermont volunteers, and took part in many battles of the civil war, including Gettysburg.
Surviving him are one son Eugene M., born of a first marraige, and five children of a second union, namely: Iona Frances, Horace Bliss, Sumner Boyd, Helen Abbie, and Allen Luther. His second wife was Miss Flora Abbie Boyd, who died March 15, 1917, and is buried at Ocheyedan.
